The latest audience figures are in, and Beat 102-103 is still the number one music station in the South East.
In fact, we’ve broken our own records – with more people tuning in daily in the region than ever before! We now have 81,000 daily listeners.
Beat 102-103, which broadcasts to Carlow, South Tipperary, Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny, is number one music station for “All Adults” listening in the region. In our target market of 15-34 year-olds, we have 60,000 listening daily. That’s more than 2FM (21,000) and Today FM (30,000) combined!
According to today’s IPSOS MRBI/JNLR radio listenership survey, Beat 102 103 is the most listened to music station with 134,000 tuning in weekly.
Beat has 27,000 more people listening daily than our closest local competitor.
When we include people listening outside the five counties of the South East, our daily listenership is 93,000.
Listeners are liking the sound of Beat’s Big Weekend. The Sunday Grill with Mary O’Neill has increased it’s audience by 57% in twelve months, while Sportsbeat Roundup on Saturday is up by 66% in twelve months!
Beat Drive with Andy Mac continues to hoover up radio listeners in the five counties, with a phenomenal 38,000 people joining Andy on the Drive every day!
Beat 102-103’s Head of Station Sound Niall Power is thrilled with the latest stats which show Beat as the dominant force in radio listening among young adults in the South East.
He says ‘Another record-breaking result for Beat and it’s a credit to our talented team. 81,000 people tuning in daily in the South East is a phenomenal result and it leaves our national competitors in the shade.
The station is performing strongly in our target market of young adults aged 15-34, and also in the competitive 20-44 category. We’re particularly delighted with the performances of some of our weekend shows – with big increases for the Sunday Grill, Old Skool Sunday and Sportsbeat Roundup on Saturday.
Welcome and thanks to our new listeners. We’ll be working hard again in 2012 to bring you the best of your music now, more fun in the morning, relevant news and sport and the most exciting promotions!”
