Beat 102-103 enjoyed triple success at this year’s PPI National Radio Awards held at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.
The station’s flagship morning show, Beat Breakfast with Niall, Vinny & Mary, earned bronze in the Best Breakfast Programme, finishing ahead of national rivals Ian Dempsey on Today FM and Hector on 2FM.
Top 7 at 7 presenter Teresanne O’Reilly won silver in the Best Newcomer Category, whilst Darren Rice’s Saturday night dance show, The Saturday Selection, was awarded bronze in the Best Specialist Programme category.
Beat 102-103 CEO/Programme Director Gabrielle Cummins said “the awards are important as they are judged by the best people in the industry. We’re thrilled that our team has been rewarded for their talent and efforts. To see Beat Breakfast placed in the Top 3 shows in Ireland and ahead of national rivals Today FM and 2FM is fantastic. Teresanne has really made a big mark in a short amount of time, and to see Darren recognised again shows how lucky we are at Beat to have such specialist talent.”
The PPI Radio Awards, now in its eleventh year, is dubbed the Oscars of the broadcast industry and attracts hundreds of radio personalities from all over the country. This was the fourth successive year that they were held in the South East at Lyrath.
