  • Mary’s choice of outfit today

So, it’s a big week as we head towards the All Ireland Final this Sunday at Croke Park. The rivalry and slagging between Tipp and Kilkenny fans is reaching new heights.

So, myself and Vinny were quite taken aback to see Mary’s choice of colours in her outfit today. Take a look and see what you think yourself.

  • Lyrics for the Sing Off!

So, I hope the vocal chords are being rested for the next day or two ahead of the two county sing offs this weekend!

Remember, for Tipperary, it’s the Showgrounds in Clonmel this Friday at 4pm. For Kilkenny, it’s MacDonagh Junction this Saturday at 2pm!

    The lyrics for both counties:-

THE BIG SING OFF – TIPPERARY

I gotta feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night

Todays’s the day, let’s live it up
Come on the Premier, let’s fire it up
Go out and smash it like oh my God
let’s break some ball, let’s get, get off

    I know that we’ll have a ball
If we get down and go out and just lose it all
I feel stressed out, I wanna let it go
Let’s go way out spaced out and losing all control

    The McCarthy cup, mozoltov!
Look at them hurling, they just take off
Let’s paint croker, we’ll shut it down
Then Celebrate and then we’ll do it again

Let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it
And do it and do it, let’s live it up
And do it and do it and do it, do it, do it
Let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it

THE BIG SING OFF – KILKENNY

I gotta feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night

A feeling, woohoo, that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night

Todays’s the day, let’s live it up
Come on the Cats, let’s fire it up
Go out and smash it like oh my God
let’s break some ball, let’s get, get off

    I know that we’ll have a ball
If we get down and go out and just lose it all
I feel stressed out, I wanna let it go
Let’s go way out spaced out and losing all control

    The McCarthy cup, mozoltov!
Look at them hurling, they just take off
Let’s paint Croker, we’ll shut it down
Then Celebrate and then we’ll do it again

Let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it
And do it and do it, let’s live it up
And do it and do it and do it, do it, do it
Let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it

  • South East Stories

I have to say… I’m thoroughly enjoying the South East Stories which have been running all month.

The Beat News journalists scoured the five counties looking for interesting people to talk to, and this week, we’re hearing some of the more unusual one. We’ve had clairvoyants, fox tamers and canary lovers so far.

I’m particularly looking forward to this Friday when we hear from the two Moroney brothers, Eddie and Mike, who are renowned in the Aherlow area. Eddie found international fame a few years back after commentating on a Gaelic football match. He’s commonly known as ‘Effin Eddie’ and it’s worth searching for him on Youtube!

If you missed any of the South East Stories, you can replay them all here.

  • Why ‘Friends’ is not like real life….

We got a text at the start of today’s show from Clara. She was concerned that her friend was completely obsessed with the tv show ‘Friends’. She watches up to ten episodes a day and has decided to move to New York to live just like them. Clara has been telling her that living in New York isn’t exactly the same as how the Friends characters live, and she asked Beat Breakfast listeners to draw up a list of ways in which it differs.

So, here are some differences between ‘Friends’ and real life:-

    - If you’re working as a waitress, or out-of-work actor, the chances are that you won’t be able to live in a super apartment in Manhattan
    - If you have six friends in your group, not everybody will end up snogging or sleeping with each other
    - In real life, you don’t jump from being a waitress to being Chief Buyer for Ralph Lauren with no experience!
    - You can’t keep a monkey, duck or chicken in most apartments
    - If you date a serious ex of a best pal, you won’t still be friends
    - “How you doin’?” does not work as an effective chat-up line in real life
    - When you walk into your favourite cafe or bar with five friends, the best seat in the house will not always be available to you!

If you need any help with a dilemma, or with making a decision, drop us a line… talk@beat102103.com

  • Not-so-hot celebrities!

Ever get confused by why the media keep going on about a beautiful celebrity? Have you amazed your friends by admitting that you don’t fancy George Clooney?!

You’re not alone. We were discussing this on the show this morning – celebrities you just don’t get, yet everyone else seems to fancy them. Mary made her feelings quite clear about Brad Pitt and Brian O’Driscoll. Vinny agreed with all ten on the official list from Askmen.com.

The lady pictured above, Sarah Jessica Parker, topped the Askmen.com list, and you can see the full Top 10 here…. http://ie.askmen.com/top_10/celebrity/top-10-female-celebrities-the-media-tries-to-convince-you-are-hot.html
