  • Nosy Neighbours!

Neighbours from hell that are just plain nosy was the talking point of this mornings show! Having a peeping <insert name here> is just plain annoying.

So we asked the listeners to share some of their stories with us and boy did they keep us entertained.

One neighbour went as far as fitting in a new window in order to keep a close eye on the goings on beside her. Now that’s just plain creepy!

Breaking up with a partner and the fear of loosing the friends in the process was on our minds this morning as we received an urgent email last night from the infamous ‘Anon’ and as always we put it to the public.

Here are some of the reactions we got on the Beat102103 Podcast.

Join us tomorrow for some more morning light hearted chat with Niall and the gang!

  • Favourite Christmas Movies

What is your ultimate Christmas movie? Is it ‘Bad Santa’, ‘Elf ‘ or an all time classic like ‘Home Alone’. Here is another list so have a look and see what classic gets you in the  Christmas spirit.

Today’s Daily dilemma “Help!I hate my friends new accent”. The curious case of the girl who changed the way she spoke over night. We  wouldn’t really say this case was over night but never the less it was a short period of  time.

Not only is she now speaking differently but she has taken on new persona, very ‘lahdidah’ to put it frankly.  Her friends can’t tolerate her new personality any more and they are beginning to not want to be around her.

If you’ve ever been in this situation it can be very annoying, so like many texters have said “tell her” I would too before she starts wondering why she has no friends.

    More hilarious banter tomorrow morning!

  • Wrapping it up early!

A big chat wiith a magician and plenty of excited texters were on the menu for this morning. Keith Barry had a chat with Niall and we asked what was the best thing that happened to you over the weekend?

For me it was graduating and for  a lot of other people it was getting Christmas presents out of the way.Caller Ellen had all her Christmas presents bought and wrapped, so she will be having a very easy December as she has taken out the hassle factor, listen here. I think I like that approach.

It was time for our dilemma feedback. Remember that youing lady thatwas madly in love with her work colleague, she finally got the courage to ask him out. Although it didn’t have that fairytale ending we all would have liked it was still good to get her feelings out in the open!

More tomorrow with Niall, Mary and Vinny

  • thanksgiving

Its Thanks giving so get the Turkey’s out and lets start celebrating!

What are you most thankful for? The text lines were jammed with all the lovely things people are thankful for both big and small.

It’s nice to know that people are still grateful for the little things as well as the major things that take place in our lives.

Our dilemma was all about PDA (Public Display of Affection). Some of  us love it and some of us don’t, for the ones that don’t,it can be very uncomfortable and awkward, for the ones that do, it can be a moment of pleasure. One where you are freely able to show your partner and the world how much you care.

So should she stay or should she go?

It depends on the person and how much they are willing to take, there is always a compromise. So maybe try and take a different approach.

Talk to him and make sure you are on the same page. You don’t want to change yourself completely either so make sure you both find a middle ground. A peck every now and then couldn’t hurt, right?

    More tomorrow morningfolks!

  • Tearjerker

Are you a big cryer? This morning we talked about those tv show that makes you a crying mess. Some of our texters cried over anything remotely emotional.

Remember that scene in Friends when Rachel broke up with Ross after she found out he cheated, Mary talked about how touching that was for her.

We’ve also learnt that numerous people bawl their eyes out when Grey’s Anatomy is on the telebox.Vinny made sure to point out that this kind of TV has been designed to turn on the water works!

Our Dilemma was from a listener who’s husband has ruined there holiday by inviting a couple she doesn’t particularly like. This is one that would annoyed even the most patient of people, so we felt her pain!

Here is what came in on the text lines…

She should dodge them before the holiday and hope they go away: Somehow I dont think this one is going  to work, it’s not a trip next door, they have agreed to a holiday in another country so I dont think  a game of hiding-from-our-friends will work.

She should accept it and just avoid them on the holiday: Well this would work but what if the husband decides to do some more planning, as we have clearly seen he cant help himself.

She should give her husband a peiece of her mind so he knows how peed off she is about the situation: This one I can work with! She doesn’t get away with him a lot and now she has been landed in this predicament where she’ll have to fake being happy for a few days. So for future planning make sure she makes it clear how NOT to plan a trip. After a good rant and tongue lashing I bet he wont do it again!

We’re just over the midweek hump folks so join us again tomorrow morning at the same time!

  • Finders keepers!

I was back  again trying to investigate how honest people really are.Today w’s scenario was finding a money or a wallet.

I think most people are willing to be honest because the fear of Karma coming around would be too great. Some people thought maybe it was just luck if they found money so it would be only right to keep it.

We got a caller who once found €200 and kept it.Which lead me to believe  it might beall in the mind. If we believe Karma is going to come back and bite us in the you-know-whats then the constant worry will be there. Whereas someone who doesnt believe will be fine and will not be affected.

Today’s daily dilemma was the classic tale of  liking the attractive person and not believeing you have a chance.  Although this one was one of many similar  situations we still had mixed reviews in how to tackle it.

Most people would agree just taking the plunge is the first step because if the person is  confident, they will be attracted to somone just as confident.

Mid-week tomorrow  so join us again for more Beat breakfast!

  • From TwiCrazy to Momma drama!

If you were tuned into the X-factor then you would have been up to date on all things Breakfast this morning. We talked about reality TV mayhem from ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of here’ to X-fcator and the like.

Twilight has become a phenomenon  and lets just say this weekend the fans were out in droves to see the new release of the Twilight saga Breaking Dawn.It got mixed reviews but overall the South East have gone twi-crazy. We had a lot of Twi-hards on air to share their enthusiasm and reviews on the film. Twi-hards is what I like to call those Twilight die hard fans!

Our dilemma had the listener running to their phones to get their opinions in and what a reaction we got! The emailer explained to us the problem she was finding with her mother. Her mother has not only been dressing like her but she has also been flirting with her friends and going out with her. She’s finding it a little hard to deal with and is very unhappy. Madonna seems to be doing all right with Lourdes,I wonder what she would think about this?

There were so many opinions so have a listen here on the Beat 102103 Podcast to see what you think and if you have a minute tell us what you would do!

  • Leave my skip alone!

Well it’s certainly a fresh morning a bit nippy but at least there is no rain…yet anyway!

We got the ball rolling this morning with a very relaxing topic! “There is no better feeling…” We had many different reactions from everyone and thank God it was all clean.

There is no better feeling than “… the last mortgage payment”, “…than getting into a nice warm bed after a hot shower”,”… getting the shoes off after a long day”, “….taking the bra off” I think women can relate to that one! And lastly “… getting a nice kiss and hug from my partner after waking up”

“Leave my skip alone”  said our dilemma. He was rather peed off about the fact that his neighbours decided to use his rented skip. They filled it with their trash and he was pretty sure he knew who some of the rubbish belonged to. What he wanted to know was, should he throw the stuff back?

A lot of people were quick to say “yeah go for it”. It isn’t cheap to rent skips these days, with prices coming in at a cool e240 we could feel his displeasure.

His wife wanted to keep the peace by letting it all go! That wasn’t the right way to go about it said our listeners, you have to to show disapproval!

A caller thought it was a conspiracy, she believed the neighbours were getting together  and doing this on purpose.

It turns out we can actually do a lot if this happens, start by ringing the city council they will have the bin searched and if anything is found connecting your neighbours, a hefty fine is handed out! People who had experienced this also informed us that they will take care of the rubbish for you.

I bet he was happy to find that one out, justice will be served!

We are just over the mid-week hump now and still so much more tomorrow!

  • Battle of the sexes: Who can keep a secret for longer?

Mary is bringing back the word “Shift”, so get on board its making a comeback we think!

According to new rsearch women are unable to keep secrets and the longest we can go without spilling the beans is a shocking 32 minutes.

Some comments were made by one listener that 20 minutes out of that 32  is  used to top-up the phones that are used to spread the gossip!

Lots of women defended themselves and said that men are just as bad at keeping secrets.  If you want to trust the research then it is to believed that women just can’t help but blab.

I beg to differ, when it comes to gossip people on a whole  love secrets,we all love news of any sort. A debate has emerged, why do we actually like news is it just human nature to be instinctively curious, what drives that impulse?

This lead nicely into the Daily Dilemma ‘Should I tell my sister I hooked up with a guy she told me not to?’ But wait there is a spanner in the works…because someone else might get there first!

So what should she do? Several suggestions flooded in advising her to “just be honest” and do it quickly before this “big mouth” gets there first!

Join us again tomorrow morning at 6.50am for more Breakfast with Niall and Mary (Vinny is  away folks, don’t worry he’ll be back next week)

  • Splash attack!

Crack the code is back again! We can’t seem to get enough of  it everyone is spending majority of their spare time trying to win that money!

I know you probably missed Vinny this morning, he is away for the week. We still have his chair in studio to look at everytime we feel that void!Aawww

I’m sure you have experienced getting drenched from a car that was passing on the street. It’s a very embarrassing experience which makes most of us swear more than we have ever done in our lifetime! Some very unkind people out there, still very funny though obviously not if you are on the recieving end of course!

This mornings dilemma was from a listener who is feeling a little intimidated by his girlfriends past endeavors. She has had her fair share of  “shifting and drifting” from her college days.

Well the thing is we all have a past and you can’t really hold someones past against them. Don’t keep bringing it up and certainly don’t make her feel bad about it you will have to leave it where it belongs, in the past!

    More tomorrow folks!
