  • Re-gifting nightmare!

What is your idea of a great Christmas present? We had lots of ideas come in on the text-line and we would advise you get your presents under the tree asap, the clock is ticking.

Some people don’t have there tree up yet and we are are wondering is there much point in putting it up this late? I say go for it, it’s never too late to get in the Christmas spirit!

On the daily dilemma we talked about re-gifting. Here is what we have to say, if you are going to do it make sure it’s not a crap gift! Nobody wants freebies you were given in a hotel, it can be viewed as disrespectful, you were warned!

    Mid-week hump over now,more tomorrow!

  • Christmas Wish-list

Christmas is nearly here folks so get those lists out!

What’s on you Christmas wish-list? This morning the Breakfast crew talked about that ever so popular list we make, whether it be in your head or jotting it down with a pen and paper. I took to the streets to find out what you are all wishing for. SURPRISE,SURPRISE… money and happiness came in as the big winners!

The Daily Dilemma was filled with stalker-tastic warnings. It’s one we have definitely either heard before or experienced ourselves. It starts out as friends with benefits or just a sex thing then someone start to get feelings while the other tries to shake them off.

So how do you get yourself out of this one if stalker mode has set in? There really is no way around it so be blunt and honest. “There is no point in making up lies” as Vinny said! Phasing out might no work for this one so be direct without being too hurtful!

Join Niall Mary and Vinny again tomorrow morning bright and early!

  • Big Tipper

How was you’re weekend? For all of us here at Beat it was rather eventful. We had our staff Christmas party and as well as that we also had the Beat listener party in Metropolis nightclub Wexford. Fun and laughter for all involved!

Now on to more pressing topics! Christmas is a time for giving or so we would think! I was out and about on the streets of the South East asking if this was a myth or are we still giving, tips that is.

Niall,Mary and Vinny gave there thoughts on the topic have a Listen here. I think the majority showed us that even with our financial climate being as dry as the Sahara we still can afford a tin of biccies for Mr.Binman or Mr.Posty!

We also had some daily dilemma feedback and you can find out all about how Friday’s emailer got on  right here on the Beat breakfast Podcast.

Very interesting feedback with some cynical views in there, who knows he might be genuinely interested in her. My thoughts are she should wait until he writes back, we wouldn’t want to look too eager!

More showbiz, dilemmas and hilarious banter in the morning folks!

  • Stuck in the middle

This mornings show was jam packed with lots of topics. Kicking it all off  we had ‘The world you’re waking up to’ and Mary mentioned Googling.

The phrase “Just Google it” has become a phenomenon and in 2011 we used Google more than ever before! Some of the most Googled topics would surprise you. The Irish were busy Googling, knitting,Crocheting, bargain hunting and Dating with the fastest growing search being DoneDeal.ie

Niall also  filled us in on the ‘perfect man’, if there is such a thing. A survey was conducted and women were asked to list there other half’s short falls. The Daily mail has suggested that the perfect man does not exist, listen here to what the breakfast crew had to say about this.

Wondering what to do now that the perfect man doesn’t exist? Well all hope is not lost because what we do know is we can still get pretty close!

Today’s dilemma came from a listener who just doesn’t know how to split her time. Should she spend Christmas with her father or her mother? It’s a tough one but of course we offered our best opinions and you can catch it all here on the Beat breakfast Podcast. Let’s hope she makes the right choice.

Same time, same place tomorrow and it all kicks off at 6:50am!

  • iphone now or iphone later?

Christmas peeves was the topic of the morning. We wait 364 days ever year for the big day and then its all over,so what is it you find hardest to tolerate about the festive season?

For one texter it’s the death of his good mood after the Christmas dinner, listen here to see what he meant.

Some people find the repetitive songs aka ‘Fairytale of New York’ the thing that sends their nerves into over drive and others say it’s the last minute shoppers who really makes them want go bonkers!

Are the children of today just a little bit spoilt or is it moving with times to expect them to want a bit more? Today’s dilemma was from a parent who isn’t sure if buying an iphone for their 7 year old  is OK.

We had a lot of texters and callers commenting on this one, some saying its way too much others saying it’s fine kids are far more advanced and need to be given the right tools.

It can be very hard for a parent to say no to their children especially if it’s within their means to provide certain luxuries. Where do you stand on this? The main feedback was that that seven is a little too young for such luxuries, “let the children be children”.

It’s a tough one but I hope this parent has found some solace in what Niall, Mary, Vinny and the listeners had to say.

    More tomorrow folks!

  • Give the b**** a Bone!

What’s on your wish list for Christmas? Well whether it be money, snow or love it’s time to send them to Santa! This is not a time to be selfish or greedy so make sure your wish isn’t too narrow, after all dreams do come true!

It’s Chris Kindle time again! Work mates are hard to shop for but it is particularly hard if you don’t like the person! Yes you guessed it, that was our Daily Dilemma for today. So listen to our Beat Breakfast Podcast to hear what the reaction was.

I don’t think fighting fire with fire is the best way but it’s always ok to have a little giggle to yourself by doing something harmless right? Most people said to give the bitch a bone, I’m sure they were referring to her dog!

  • Chris’Mare = Christmas Nightmare

We haven’t stopped talking about Christmas since we opened our Advent Calenders! The Christmas trees are up and stockings are hung, next on the list, the buying of the presents! Speaking of presents Niall asked the question what was your “quickest breakage on Christmas day”

Picture this, it’s Christmas day you have that new gift and you can’t stop admiring it, then out of nowhere like the catastrophe that was hurricane Catriona, something happens and its bye-bye present I’ve waited all year for. You know crying and rocking in the corner just wont bring it back and Santa is long gone, back to the north pole with Rudolf so not a chance of calling him!

We had some tear-jerkers that made us think back, here is Vinny with his memory!

Our daily dilemma came in from a confused girlfriend.  She had planned to emmigrate with her boyfriend to Oz when suddenly he was planning to move to the other side of Australia without her.

Our texters thoughts were that he wanted to end the relationship but he was being sly about it. He knows that by doing a shady thing like leaving her in the lurch she would have to break up with him and it would be what he wanted all along without having the pain of doing it himself! Niall Mary and Vinny agreed, she shouldn’t chase him, stick to her plan and go enjoy herself!

  • Advent Calenders at the ready

This morning Niall,Mary and Vinny asked about your good news from the weekend? We had some very good stories sent in via text and the Beat Facebook page about matches being won and the excitement over new babies and Christmas.

It seems like everyone is getting in the mood for Christams and as it’s the first day to start opening those advent calenders we’re sure a lot of chocolate will be devoured over the next 12 days.

Our Daily dilemma came in from an expectant mother. The news of a new baby was just too much for her partner to keep to himself and so he did the unthinkable, he ‘blabbed’. The news proved too juicy to be kept quiet, even though they had mutually decided to do so.

Needless to say this expectant mother was not happy about this as the news was spreading like wildfire even before her parents had been informed. Listen here on the Beat Breakfast Dilemma Podcast to hear what people thought she should do about the situation.

    More tomorrow
