  • Mammy is always right!

Mother day is coming up and so is St. Patrick’s day so we had to start the week off with the mammy’s this morning.

Niall Mary and Vinny were back in action this morning. They asked what are those things your mother always said that you either didn’t like hearing but eventually thought was right  or you simply just found plain annoying? The Irish ‘Mammism’ as Niall put it

My mother always used to say “What’s for you wont go by you” and boy was she right but it’s not the sort of thing you want to hear when your pissed off that you didnt get a job or something went wrong with your plans.

I thought they were supposed to know what to say, isn’t it built in or something. Aparently not all the time!

We recieved a call from Annette telling us what her mam used to say listen here for some insightful knowledge.

    More tomorrow folks

  • Unhealthy Competition

We all say we’re good sports but are we really! We’re good sports until we start losing and then the devil horns start coming out and our competitive nature takes hold. Vinny and Mary asked for some of the stories and I think it’s fair to say that it is mainly the men that can’t handle when women are taking the lead!

We went right back to the college years with our daily dilemma! When all you wanted to do was party and missing lectures didn’t matter, until those dreaded exams came about! When taking notes from your mates was all the rage and that’s how you got by.

Well that friend you used to pester was not that impressed, “What!Really?” Yes really! One such friend wrote to us and she just can’t take it anymore!

Here is what the listeners had to say.

Your fiend might not even know its bothering you so just sit her down and lay it all out.Helping is great but when it’s becoming a chore it’s not called helping it’s called being annoying!

    More tomorrow folks!

  • Oh the things kids say!

Good morning! After the scorcher of a day we had yesterday, the Irish weather has once again shifted and its trés gloomy outside, but that didn’t bring us down in studio as the funny stories came flooding in.

Vinny asked you what were those embarrassing moments your tiny tots have subjected you to and we had two callers share their  kiddy stories with us. Oh the shame!

Here is a little gem I found online, where the mammies of the world made a compilation of their embarrassing stories  Click here to listen.

and lastly here is one I read recently:

A father has his boss over for dinner and when he introduces his family his son lets out ” My daddy thinks your really funny. He’s always telling mommy about the clown he works for”

Homer Simpson couldn’t have said it better, DOH!

More from Vinny and Mary tomorrow morning!

  • The Awkward Moment…

It’s Monday morning and the sun is shining! If you missed the show,Vinny and Mary were on their own this morning as  Niall is on hols for the week. The dynamic trio is a duo for the week.

“The awkward moment when…” We all have them and Vinny was curious to know what they were.

Dear God some of the most cringe worthy moments were sent in! People were falling into man size puddles, walking into lamp posts and even hugging the wrong person (in public)!

The one that really got me cowering in the corning mouthing NOOO was  from a texter who didn’t spot a baby monitor and referred to the baby she was looking at as being “as ugly as your father”. Do I even have to say it, EVERYONE on the other end heard her! All I’m thinking about is the looks she got when she had to leave the room, SHAME on you haha!

Even today’s dilemma is one big fat awkward moment! After sending a very drunken email to a guy she fancies our daily dilemma emailer had no idea how to look him in the eye, especially after she told him that they were soul-mates in the email.

Her question, should she mention the email or keep pretending it never happened?

When did professing ones love become so embarrassing, I’ll tell you when, since technology has taken over the world. The amount of people who have done this is at an all time high and still on the rise. You were warned people turn those phones off when you start to get that overwhelming feeling of intoxication!

Listen to what our regular Caller/Texter Jeri’s advice was, I think the South East agreed with him on this one.

And of course there is more tomorrow!
