  • Katie Taylor wins Gold for Ireland!

The Beat Breakfast Crew spoke to The Original Rudeboys! The trio spoke about their performance at the Phoenix Park in July and they also performed their hit ‘Feelin Good’!

When it’s Friday i do the happy dance for the weekend but  today I everyone in the office is doing the happy dance and not just because of the good weather but because Katie Taylor is bringing  home the gold today! The boxer has made Ireland proud in the Olympic.

More celebrations when Usain Bolt wont the Gold medal in the 200 meters race so all in all I don’t think anyone could be unhappy today, not with all these double whammies!Weather and a few winning athletes, “How Bad!”

Rhianna couldn’t have said it better “Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!”

  • Proudness all shapes and sizes

What are some of those achievements you had when you were younger big or small…

We had a Miss Personality from Carlow,a few best colouring competition winners  and more than a few proud mom’s!

This reminded me of the ad where we saw a mother shouting praises at at her son in a soccer match. Then it was later revealed her son was the mascot and not actually the goal scorer as we were lead to believe at the start of the advert.

Proudness comes in all shapes and sizes!

    More tomorrow folks!

  • Let the Irish Roar!

It’s Tuesday after the bank holiday Monday and the Beat breakfast crew are all back together. Niall,Mary and Vinny were talking about dilemmas and giving away money, Catherine won a thousand Euro and the rest of the shows throughout the day will be giving the same to some very lucky callers!

But I think the main news over the weekend was about Irish Olympian Katie Taylor guaranteeing Ireland at least a bronze medal in this years female boxing competition. Katie is now moving on to the semi-finals to try and bring home the gold!

The Irish fans took down the house with their roars as she performed her heart out. I say that quiet literally, “An Olympic official said the decibel level during the Taylor fight hit 113.7, the highest at the Games so far – surpassing the cycling finals at the Velodrome and not far behind the 140 decibel roar of a jet engine.”

They were nearly as loud as a jet engine!I’m not surprised actually “Olé,Olé,Olé” has the power to spark a sort of fire in fans and on this occasion the place was set ablaze by the roars!

    Lots more tomorrow!

  • Quirky Olympics for 2016

It Olympics time again and since they are taking place in London this year we wanted to know what quirky thing could we put in to revamp it for 2016 and possibly make it a little more Irish!

We had some very creative entries, some questionable, others were hilariously crazy and I doubt they would ever make it farther than those creative minds! Listen here for some of the entries…

    - Be-grudgery (Don’t ask)
    - Pealing Potatoes (And incase your wondering they we have to be raw because being boiled would make them too raw)
    - Welly Thorwing
    - Drifting
    - Knitting
    - Wet T-shirt (Suggested by males of course)
    - Sewing

    Etc, Etc…

The Bank Holiday is on its way and I have my fingers crossed for the South East that it’s somewhat sunny, please God!

  • Men Only!

A new ‘men only’ isle will be in a store near you soon.Vinny cheered at this because he says he often gets flustered if he’s looking for those manly products and they’re some how mixed up with the more feminine stuff! Correct me if I’m wrong I don’t think women get flustered if we pass the male items so I don’t think we’ll even notice the change!

Niall also talked about the worst place/ situation you’ve seen an ex? Let me break this one down…

You’re having one of those dreaded ‘bad hair days’ and you happen to be picking up a pregnancy test (for a friend who desperately needs one but isn’t near a chemist, so you offer kindly to be the friend in deed). You happen to look up and who do you see but the very recent ex looking at your dishevelled frame and mid your embarrassed wave you realise you still have the test in hand (Oh Christ It’s the waving hand), so now you are no longer JUST a Hobo but a knocked up Hobo!

    The End

    More tomorrow!
