BuskAid returns to Waterford City this Saturday

BuskAid returns to Waterford City this Saturday

Following a hugely successful 2016, BuskAid returns to the streets of Waterford this Saturday.

The event hopes to raise much-needed funds for two charities: Tinteán Housing Association and the Waterford Lion’s Club Christmas Hamper Appeal.

Last year, the event raised over €3,700 for charitable causes.

The music kicks off from 10am this Saturday, where the streets of Waterford will be taken over by buskers of all genres.

Derek Flynn, busking coordinator and founding member of BuskAid says: “Our plan is to have performers on every street corner throughout the day; we want to bring a bit of a buzz to the city while people are getting their last bit of shopping done. We have big plans this year!”

This year’s grand finale will take place under the Apple Market roof where all performers are invited to join in. Ohh, and expect a very special surprise guest.

Tadhg Williams, founder and director of BuskAid said: “We wanted to make sure any funds raised stay local. These are two very worthy and effective local charities, and we’re more than happy to be helping in any way we can.”
