U2 this morning confirmed that they will be bringing the Joshua Tree tour to Croke Park this summer.
Thirty years since the album was first released, the group will hit GAA headquarters on July 22nd.
Joining U2 for their Croke Park date will be Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who will slot in as support act for the tour’s European leg.
Speaking on this morning’s announcement, Noel said: “It will be both a pleasure and an honour to play my part in what still remains the greatest show on earth.”
The tour will kick off in Canada’s Vancouver on 12th May before arriving in Europe on the 8th of July.
Tickets go on sale in Ireland this day week, the 16th of January.

But first, cast your mind back to that epic night in Slane 16 years ago. Will Croke Park come close?
