Wexford man dies in Sydney stabbing

A 30-year-old Irish man has died after he was stabbed in a house in Sydney.

The Australian Daily Telegraph is reporting that the man was found severely bleeding on the driveway of a home on Watson Road in Padstow at 12:20am on Saturday (Friday 1.20pm Irish time.)

Paramedics tried to save him, but has died at the scene shortly after. The victim was originally from Enniscorthy in Wexford.

Police said were three women and a man at the home when another man arrived at the property, leading to an argument. The women were not injured in the incident.

A 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs said they were aware of the case and are providing consular assistance to the family of the victim.
