I.T Carlow to Open new state of the art building

I.T Carlow is set to open a brand new 10 million euro development at it's main campus this morning.

The Haughton Building is named after Carlow born James Haughton, an educational activist.

The new state of the art development will include lecture theatres and computer labs.

"The Haughton building is part of our ambitious €100 million capital development plan for the institute.

We've invested significantly in buildings over the years.

This building which is for our teaching and learning is a €10 million euro building, state of the art, on the Carlow campus"

"It's a lot of providing space for exsisting staff but we are a growing institute.

We've grown our student numbers by 40% in the last 5 or 6 years so the need for more teaching and learning space.

Built into that also is there is staff offices and I.T labs.

We've brand new dedicated I.T labs for computer games development will be included in the Haughton building and they'll be state of the art in terms of graphics & capabilities etc."
