Two Irish Olympians were investigated by the International Olympic Committee with relation to placing inappropriate bets at Rio 2016.
This has been confirmed by the Olympic Council of Ireland who will be releasing a statement on the issue later today.
RTE reports that it is not yet clear which sports the bets were placed on or what action was taken, if any.
Placing bets at the Olympic Games if you are an athlete or an official is not illegal, however it is prohibited by the IOC.
