Man sustains serious injuries after accident at popular Waterford tourist spot

A man is continuing to be treated for serious at University Hospital Waterford following an accident at a popular tourist spot.

The man fell from a cliff, on the west side of Bonmahon Bay yesterday.

It's believed he was climbing the cliff when the incident happened.

Bonmahon Coastguard, Rescue 117, Tramore Coast Guard Units, and the National Ambulance Service were all tasked to the scene.

Crews on the scene decided, due to the severity of the man's injuries, he should be taken by helicopter to University Hospital Waterford, where he is still receiving treatment.
