Emma Watson suspected of taking shot at J.K Rowling at BAFTAs

Emma Watson has been accused of taking a swipe at J.K Rowling at the BAFTA awards.

Speaking on stage last night, the actress appeared to me a jab at Harry Potter author J.K Rowling.

Specifically at her comments regarding transgender women in June of 2020, which garnered the Potter creator criticism across the internet.

Watson was called up to present an award by host Rebel Wilson who introduced her by saying;

“Here to present the next award is Emma Watson. She calls herself a feminist, but we all know she’s a witch.”

After taking the stage, Watson joked “I’m here for all of the witches!”. Before mouthing, ‘’Okay ?!’’. This was met with cheers and whooping from the BAFTA crowd.

According to Lad Bible, the actress’s comments then went viral on twitter. Many shared the video and the hashtag #JKDoesntSpeakForMe. These relate to comments about the transgender community made by Rowling in reaction to a ‘people who menstruate’ opinion piece in June of 2020.

Earlier in the ceremony, Wilson also made a dig at Rowling as she addressed her own weight loss 'transformation', admitting she's 'looking different' these days. The comedian then said: “I hope JK Rowling still approves.”
