I'm A Celeb will return to Australia in 2022

Thanks to our uninvited friend, the pandemic, the past two series of hit ITV show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here have taken place at Gwrych Castle in North Wales. It's after travel restrictions stopped production of the hit show in Australia.

However, now that most restrictions have been lifted across the globe, it sounds like the 2022 series of the popular show is about to return Down Under!

Rosemary Newell is Director of Content at ITV, and speaking earlier she said: "We expect a celebrity to return in Australia in November, when it will generate an audience over 11 million." She has since confirmed the move.

Hints of the return to the jungle have been dropped by its hosts recently. Ant and Dec appeared on The One Show where they hinted the show may not be returning to North Wales.

Speaking on the BBC's The One Show, Ant said: "Well the plan is the jungle." Dec then commented: "Nothing against Wales," with Ant adding: "We love Wales. But you know, Australia is I'm A Celeb's home and we'd like to get back there - and we can!"

Despite the move to Wales, the last two series of I'm A Celeb have certainly been generally very good in ratings for ITV.

I'm A Celeb returns to ITV and Virgin Media One in November.
