WATERFORD CITY

Sean Power is Grand Marshall for 2017. The manager of the 2016 Hurling All-Ireland Under-21 Champions will lead the 2017 parade along with some of the stars of his winning team.

The theme is “Do it the Green Way” to celebrate the upcoming opening of the Waterford Greenway on March 25th.

The parade leaves the Glen at 1pm, continuing down to the Quay, onto The Mall, and will finish on Parnell Street.

TRAMORE

Pre-parade entertainment from 1.30pm at the Priest Road Car Park and from the Viewing Stand on Lower Branch Road from 1.30pm by the Tramore Comhaltas and Boxty.

The parade gets underway  at 3pm from the Priest Road Car Park. Route follows Summerhill, Main Street, Broad Street, Gallweys Hill, Turkey Road and finishes on Lower Branch Road.

DUNGARVAN

This year the parade is starting at  3pm sharp from the Clonea Road to avoid the busy N25. The parade will finish in Collins Road.

WEXFORD TOWN

The parade will assemble from the Fisher’s Rowe area up to the Maudlintown area at 10.15am. It will kick off at 11.00am from the junction at Fisher’s Rowe, William’s Street.

It will take in the following route: William’s Street, Trinity street, Paul Quay, Cresent Quay, Commercial Quay, Wellington Place, Redmond Square and West Gate. The Reviewing Stand will be located on the quay front adjacent to the bridge.

Wexford St Patrick's Day Parade will have ten bands along with one hundred and thirty groups and floats taking part in the parade.

NEW ROSS

The year's parade takes place 30 minutes later than other years. The  theme this year is "Festival Celebration".

The route remains the same as the last number of years. Walkers are asked to assemble at the Good Counsel College from 1:30pm and floats are asked to begin assembling from the traffic lights back towards St. Stephen's Cemetery again from 1:30pm.

The Grand Marshall this year is Mr. Mel Heynen.

GOREY

The Gorey parade starts at 3.00pm from the junction of the Carnew Road/Woodbury, down past the Monument, down the Main Street and finishes on Esmonde Street.

Presentation of prizes takes place immediately after parade on Esmonde Street viewing stand.

BAGNELSTOWN

The theme of the 2017 Bagenalstown St Patrick's Day Parade, is "Celebrating The Youth Of Our Town". The route is same as last year - starting at 1 pm at Station Road, Moving down Royal Oak Road, turning right onto The Long Range, continue along Regent Street, turn right on to High Street, left on to Main Street and finally finishing in the Market Square.

CARLOW TOWN

Assembly will be from 2.30pm with the parade moving off at 3.30pm. Walking groups will assemble in Penneys Carpark while floats and vehicles will line up on Burrin Street which will be closed to through traffic from 2.30pm.

The Killeshin Pipe Band and the Presentation School Band will as usual take part in the parade. Local traders and the business community are invited to have their shop windows and premises decked out in festive colours and displays.

KILKENNY CITY

Buí Bolg productions, the Wexford-based street arts company has been recruited this year to bring the ‘Jonathan Swift’ theme to life.

Live Music: Pre-Parade Entertainment - MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, Hebron Road - 11.30am

Culture: James Stephens Barracks Museum Open Day - Castlecomer Road - 11am to 4pm

St Patrick's Day Parade kicks at St John's Church (Dublin Road) before moving onto Market Yard via High St at 1pm

Street Performers on the Parade & in the Castle Park - 1pm

Concert: John Spillane - The Festival Review Stage, The Parade - 3pm

The characters of Beat's Fairytale Festival will also be in attendance. Beauty and the Beast, Belle, Robin Hood and much more will take to the streets in what will be the perfect dress rehearsal for their big day on 23rd of July at Shankill Castle.

TIPP TOWN

The Parade gets underway from 2pm to 5pm, starting at The Market Yard.

Daltons Heritage and Visitor Centre is hosting an open day. They are located in a shop and house which was built as part of the Plan of Campaign in 1889 and which was restored to its original condition in 1990.

CASHEL

Cashel’s St. Patrick’s Parade is Cashel ‘s biggest free Community event of the year.

It starts at 2pm at Ladys Well.

The theme of this year’s Parade is '
Keep it Green in 17'. This year there is a TREE for every child who takes part in the Parade. There will be a planting day, thanks to the Cashel Tidy Towns, when we will inite all the children who were involved in the St.Patrick's Parade to Plant a Tree. This will be a long term legacy of the 2017 Parade.

 CLONMEL

The starting area for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which starts at 3pm on Friday 17th March, is Cantwell Street (Upper Irishtown) and it will follow the same route through the town as previous years to finish in Parnell Street outside the former Town Hall.

Maureen Purcell, South Tipperary Art Group/South Tipperary Art Centre is the Grand Marshall for the day. Clonmel’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2017 is celebrating both South Tipperary Arts Group entering its 50th year and South Tipperary Arts Centre on its 20th year.

 

CARRICK ON SUIR

Carrick-on-Suir's St Patrick's Day Parade will be an evening pageant for the second year in a row.

The Parade starts at 7pm at the Swan Club Car Park and will finish with fireworks over the River Suir at Sean Healy Park off the Clonmel Road.
