Michelle Obama's texts with her mom just proves that all mammies are the same

Michelle Obama shook fans over the weekend when she made a surprise appearance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.

The former first lady walked on stage as part of Alicia Keys’ crew alongside Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith and Jennifer Lopez.

And although it may have shook the internet, the former first lady’s star appearance didn’t appear to faze her mother, Marian Robinson.

According to a text message, which Obama shared on her Instagram, Robinson seemed more interested in whether she had met any “real stars”.

Did you meet any of the real stars or did you run right after you were done

The exchange - short but sweet - just proves that all mammies are the same.

When Robinson revealed during the conversation that she only saw the show “because Gracie called me”, Obama claimed she did remind her.

In which she responded with:

No you did not. I would have remembered that even though I don’t remember much

Obama then signed off the exchange with “And I am a real star … by the way”, in which her mother brushed her off with a “yeah”.
