Spotify launches full-length DJ mixes

Super streaming service Spotify has announced a new 'DJ Mix' feature on its platform.

It allows artists to upload their full-length mixes in a brand new format. Right now, the mixes are launching in eight territories globally including UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. It's hoped that, depending on its success in the existing territories, it will be available globally.

In a press release from Spotify, they say: "DJ Mixes provides one integrated place where artists can seamlessly create and connect with their audiences. In celebration of today’s launch, DJs AmyElle, Adam Beyer, Shingo Nakamara, MOTi, and Noisia have each released their own individual mixes on our platform."

Spotify's relationship with pay for artist plays has been rocky so far, so predictably they're staying relatively quiet on monetisation.

Users on iOS and Android who have the Spotify app downloaded can listen for themselves.
