WATCH: Nicola Coughlan reacts to seeing the Derry Girls mural for the first time

Earlier this year the cast of Derry Girls were immortalised with a mural in Derry city centre.

The show’s main characters – Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and James – were painted on the side of Badgers Bar on Orchard-street to celebrate the show’s return later this year.

Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare on the show, was first to share a snap of the finished mural and today she uploaded a video of reaction to seeing it for the first time.

“So mad, the maddest,” she captioned the late night video.

Speaking to the camera, the Galway native said: “Just taking a stroll, making my way downtown and walking around.

“This is so bizarre I can begin to even explain it”

Today the rest of the cast joined her to recreate the painting.
