At present we are seeking a full time Laboratory Technician for our lab in New Ross, Co. Wexford.

It will be a fixed term 24 month contract with a 6 month probationary period leading to permanent roll. The roll would suit a science based qualifications, with a fantastic chance to get hands on laboratory experience, supervisory skills in a modern sustainable company.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN.

General Functions 

  • Maintain full in-house testing programme.
    • GC, methanol, ester content and tri glycerides
    • EN 14214 parameter techniques and analysis including ASH, Rancimat and CFPP.
    • Water by Karl fisher, volumetric and coulometric
    • Titrations / wet chemistry and Filtration
    • Analysis of feed stock, daily process checks and finished materials.
  • Maintain environmental tests and records, support for the EMS and the ISO 14001.
  • Monitoring key functions of production equipment and in-house calibrations.
  • Maintain quality assurance records. Quality system support ISO 9001,
  • Assisting other departments for ISO 50001 and ISO 14064
  • Sampling all products, from tanks, production lines and support process shift workers when needed.
  • Purchasing lab consumables by SAGE and assisting with ordering and distribution of PPE,
  • Gaining knowledge to participate in EU Biodiesel regulatory working groups

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in operation of laboratory testing equipment, including gas chromatography desired
    • Full Training to all SOP’s given
  • Ability to maintain accurate efficient recording systems.
  • Strong IT, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work on own initiative as well as being a team player
  • Ability to research and learn new analytical techniques.

Qualifications

  • Third Level Degree in Chemistry and/or Science related discipline.
  • We will also consider students in their final year of study or excellent science based leaving cert background
  • Excellent PC skills, in particular MS Office
