Dublin pub pokes fun at London bloggers looking for free drinks

A pub in Dublin has highlighted an email it received from a food blogger in London requesting free drinks in exchange for a review of their business.

57 The Headline, which is a gastro and craft bar on Lower Clanbrassil Street, poked fun at the email on Twitter, jokingly asking its followers to help feed the travellers.

"Can anyone help these guys out. They managed to scrape enough money for flights but forgot to budget for food and drinks, silly billies," it wrote.

Attached to the tweet was a screenshot of the email received:

"We are two top food and drink bloggers in London but also blog in other cities," it reads.

"We are visiting Dublin from the 24th-27th August 2018 and would love to visit your bar.

"57 The Headline looks amazing! As a blogger I am always keen on trying out the best places to eat and drink.

"Would you be interested in hosting both of us for complimentary drinks at your bar in exchange for a review on our website and Instagram?"

A number of other food and drink establishments in Dublin, including the Bank Bar and Luna restaurant, replied to the tweet to say they too were contacted by the blogger with identical requests.
