Cannabis-infused cakes served at a wedding led to a landmark life event descending into chaos.

Guests at the wedding, which took place in the Torquay area of the UK, are said to have been left shaken when cannabis-spiked cupcakes were placed on attendee tables in between the ceremony and reception.

The Metro reports that two individuals experienced serious reactions to the spiked cupcakes, resulting in both requiring treatments at Torbay Hospital in Torquay.

One of these individuals was a 63-year-old grandmother who was knocked out for a period of twelve hours after unsuspectingly eating the suspect cakes.

The grandmother has since revealed that her reaction to the cakes was so severe that her sister-in-law was preparing to perform CPR on her before paramedics arrived at the scene.

Speaking to The Metro, one attendee said: "It’s horrific to think that the perpetrator sat and watched all of this unfold, and then just disappeared with no accountability."

Both people are believed to have made a full recovery.

Police are understood to have arrived at the scene, however, the case has since been dropped due to a lack of evidence.
