New dating app launched for people who are 'desperate'

Are you so single, you're considering taking out an ad in the Farmer's Journal?

A new dating site asks you to embrace your 'desperation' to meet someone.

Desperate.Dating is looking for people who are 'desperate' to meet a significant other, encouraging them to "have fun and embrace their desperation."

Entrepreneur David Minns set up the site to respond to the feelings of 'desperation' that can occur when another Valentine's Day alone rolls around. He hopes Desperate.Dating can allow people to crush dating clichés and wear their hearts on their sleeves.

"I hope we will appeal to people who are fed up with the usual advice from relationship experts, such as 'don't text too often and don't commit too soon.'," he told the Metro UK. "As far as we are concerned, the more desperate you are, the better"

The site is advertised for persons who have been single for three years or more, but all interested are welcome to try it. The site is currently accepting subscriptions and will go live on Valentine's Day

Unlike other dating apps, there is no swiping on Desperate.Dating. If you see someone you like, you can contact them straight away. Each user can add up to 9 photos, as well as personal details and interests. You simply click the "desperate" button to start chatting.
