People reckon the O'Donovan brothers would be great craic to share a pint with

With St Patrick's Day on the horizon, many people are planning to meet friends for a social drink or two.

Over 13 million pints of Guinness will be consumed worldwide over the bank holiday weekend, and Irish people have revealed who they would most like to share a pint of the black stuff with on St. Patrick’s Day.

Unsurprisingly, world rowing champions Paul and Gary O’Donovan topped the list.

They're as well known for their hilarious chats to TV reporters as they are for their success at the Olympics and the World Rowing Championships, so they're sure to be great fun socially too.

Love Irish Tours surveyed 1,000 Irish people and the Skibbereen brothers topped the poll in their native Cork as well as nationwide, but county loyalties, age and gender preferences were evident in the results.

Dubliners voted for Conor McGregor, Blindboy and Saoirse Ronan ahead of the O'Donovan's.

The O’Donovan brothers were very popular with the those over 45.

Women chose fellow women, voting Amy Huberman the person they would like to have a chin wag and drink with, followed by Saoirse Ronan.

In the 18-24 age bracket, Saoirse Ronan, Conor McGregor and Blindboy found themselves joint top of the list.

Those aged 25-34 were fans of Conor McGregor with 26% choosing him.

Blindboy was the number one choice for those aged 35-44, with 19% choosing the Limerick native.
