Rodents stealing chocolate and causing chaos at Garda Headquarters

Mice and rats are stealing chocolate and causing chaos at Garda Headquarters in Dublin's Phoenix Park over the past year.

Documents released to the Irish Examiner show one mouse in particular was causing 'mass panic.' One inspection report details an incident where a mouse helped itself to a box of chocolates.

In a hope to put off the creatures, pest controllers sealed around pipes where they were coming into the building.

A report from March speculated that rodents might be using ivy that was growing up the outside of a building as a means of entry.

A seperate set of reports from another Garda Building on Harcourt Street said the facility is in the clear.
