Ambulance runs over jockey's leg moments after horse kicks him in the face

It sounds like something from a slapstick comedy show, but a series of very unfortunate events for a young jockey from Northern Ireland has left him with a number of bad injuries.

Chris Meehan was racing in Italy when he was thrown from his horse and kicked in the face, giving him a broken nose and gash in his jaw requiring 27 stitches. He was knocked unconscious as a result of the accident.

Sounds bad eh?

Well things really went downhill for Chris when the ambulance arrived…..and proceeded to run over his leg.

Chris says the ambulance stopped on his leg as it was reversing towards him, breaking it straight away.

The jockey is undergoing surgery today to mend both his face and leg, and he says it’ll be two months before he’s back on the saddle.

Talk about a tough day at the office.
