Belfast man buries himself alive in a churchyard - but it's all for a good cause

A man who buried himself alive in a Belfast Churchyard has spent his first night underground.

John Edwards is live streaming from a specially built coffin over two days to raise awareness of addiction and mental health issues.

The 62 year old, who's a former drug and alcohol addict, says it's because too many people are running into an early grave.

And speaking from beyond the grave this morning, John has encouraged others to seek help.

"The last time we did it, we reached eighteen million people around the world", said John.

"Isn't that just off the charts."
