The bodies of a couple in their 70s may have been in their home in County Tipperary for up to a year before they were discovered.
Post-mortem examinations are due to be carried on their remains, which were found near the village of Cloneen yesterday afternoon.
No foul play is suspected and The scene remains preserved at this time.
The Taoiseach says the discovery, is a reminder to 'look out for our neighbours'.
Micheal Martin says in particular, elderly or vulnerable people who need support.
