Carlow has third highest COVID incidence rate in Ireland

Carlow currently ranks third on the COVID incidence rate per 100,000 people - according to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.

There have been 308 cases of the virus confirmed in the past fortnight in Carlow, whose 7-day-moving rate is also large, indicating that new cases are still high across the county.

Its 7-day incidence of 321.4 cases per 100,000 population ranks only behind Donegal (406.4) and Monaghan (462.6)

However, three other South-East counties rank among the bottom six in their incidence rate per 100,000 population.

The five-day moving average has dropped to 1,401 - down almost 80 from four days ago.
