Carlow woman wins €77,000 High Court judgement following the death of her two sons

A Carlow woman has obtained a High Court judgment of €77,690 against her husband for the deaths of their sons.

Kathleen Chada, a clinic manager, of Ballinkillen, Bagnelstown, Co. Carlow sued Sanjeev Chada, whose address was given as Arbour Hill prison in Dublin City.

Mrs. Chada sued him for assault, battery and trespass on the person causing the deaths of their sons Eoghan and Ruairí in Co. Mayo in 2013.

Mr. Chada was jailed for life in 2014 for pleading guilty to the murders.

The court heard that Mr Chada had amounted debts prior to the murder of his two sons.

These debts stemmed from online trading, and had amounted to €500,000.

Yesterday, Justice Seamus Noonan informed Mr. Chada that it was no longer necessary to supply evidence as he was not contesting the application.

Justice Noonan also ordered that the sum of legal costs be paid to the claimant.
