Child maintenance payments are to be excluded from Social Welfare means tests.
The move, aimed at supporting lone parents, comes after the Report of the Child Maintenance Review Group was published.
The requirement for lone parents to make efforts to seek maintenance, as an eligibility condition for Social Welfare payments, is also being removed.
