Clonmel man jailed for 6 years on weapons charges

A Clonmel man has sentenced to six years in prison on weapons charges.

24-year old Dylan Cahill from Lower Irishtown, Clonmel in Tipperary admitted last April to having a semi-automatic pistol and four rounds of ammunition in his possession.

He also pleaded guilty to the possession of two improvised explosive devices.

He received six years, with the final year suspended for both offences, to run concurrently.
