Cyclist deliberately knocked off bike by laughing driver in shocking video

An investigation is underway after a driver of a car filmed themselves deliberately driving into a cyclist.

In it, the driver is seen to be driving down a built up road and catches up to a cyclist.

The motorist continues driving on the road, where they appear to be holding the phone while driving, and very clearly steers into him.

The driver of the car involved failed to remain at the scene.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was later taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda to receive treatment for his injuries.

He has since been discharged.

Gardaí are appealing for information following an incident of endangerment, involving a car and a bicycle that took place over the weekend.

The incident happened at approximately 3pm on Sunday, 27th November 2022 on the Castletown Road in Dundalk, County Louth.

The unsettling footage has been widely circulated on social media, according to the Independent.

Gardaí in Dundalk are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with information to come forward to them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí.
