We're being reminded to stay safe around electricity this Christmas.
The message comes from ESB networks over the festive season
They're reminding us to continue to be alert when it comes to all things electricity and remember the following;
Storms and strong winds can cause damage to electricity wires and poles so you're being reminded to always be alert and keep your distance. Also remember that fallen wires are live and therefore dangerous to approach.
When it comes to staying safe in the home only use electrical equipment including Christmas lights that are safe and in good condition. Switch off all electrical appliances including Christmas lights and phone chargers last thing at night and when leaving the house.
When outdoors always watch out for electricity wires and cables and ask yourself the question is it safe? And always look up and watch out for overhead wires and poles; you're also being asked to never use these to attach things from.
