Drugs worth €52,000 seized by Gardaí in Waterford

Gardaí in Waterford have seized drugs with a value of €52,000.

Following a sighting of suspicious activity by an Off Duty member, at around 2pm on 7/9/2018, a vehicle was stopped at Grannagh, Waterford by Garda members from Waterford City.

Following a search of the vehicle, two buckets of loose suspected d10 tablets and a brown cardboard box of prescription drugs were recovered.

Four people, local to Waterford City and in their late 20’s were arrested on suspicion of an offence under Section 15 Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977.

Three were detained under the provisions of Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act at Waterford; the fourth was detained at Tramore Garda Station.

All four have now been released with a file to be prepared for the DPP.

The suspected illegal drugs have been forwarded to the Forensic Laboratory for analysis.
