The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold in Michael Hosey’s XL Shop on the Staplestown Road in Co. Carlow on Friday 07 October.

Speaking from National Lottery headquarters on Wednesday, the surprised Carlow winner insisted that they still had not come to terms with their incredible win, ‘It is all so much to take in. It is a surreal feeling to be in the National Lottery picking up a cheque for what is a life changing amount of money for our family,’ they said.

‘It only feels real when you finally get the cheque into your hand. I am going to take some time out and think about the win. My family and I are going to plan a wonderful Christmas and after that, we will make some decisions to put some money away for the future,’ added the delighted winner.
