Gardai in Wexford investigate two separate sexual assaults in matter of days

Gardai in Wexford are investigating two separate sexual assaults in less than one week.

The latest incident- is believed to have happened at Redmond Park in Wexford town on Wednesday- just four days after an alleged rape which took place at a hotel car park in the town centre.

Gardai have confirmed investigations into both incidents are ongoing but its not believed any arrests have yet been made.

Wexford Councillor Leonard Kelly says there is a need for more CCTV in the area, 'CCTV is playing a part in relation to one attack. I have previously raised the issue what I believe is a need for CCTV at the entrance of Redmond Park. It's something that's going back a  number of years following other incidents at the park in the past. It would allow people have a greater sense of security when using the park. '
