Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to an alleged assault in Kilkenny.
In the early hours of Saturday morning between 1am and 2am, a man was attacked on Castle Road.
The man was walking home with a friend when he was attacked, receiving two punches to the face resulting in swelling.
He did not receive hospital treatment and his friend was unharmed.
