Gen Z are becoming pet parents earlier in life

People are purchasing pets earlier in life which is leading to an explosion in pet-accessories

Gen-Z are buying cats and dogs in particular before settling down

Traditionally, people would wait until their early to mid-thirties to purchase a pet

However the big trend is that cats and dogs are now being bought by individuals in their 20's

That's according to celebrity Vet Pete Wedderburn;

"Pet owners have gotten younger and what I mean by that is that traditionally, people waited until they had a family themselves and then maybe in their late thirties and forties they would say lets have a dog or a cat as well.

But that's changed now, Gen Z have started to get themselves pets before doing any of the other relationship or family stuff."
