Horses found running loose on outskirts of Kilkenny may be put down

A herd of seven horses found roaming loose on the outskirts of Kilkenny city may be put down if their owners fail to come forward.

The horses were rescued from the Salt Yards on Hebron Road, Kilkenny city, close to MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, on Thursday, March 19th last.

Kilkenny County Council has now given the owners seven days to claim the horses, which consist of six females and one male.

All but one of the horses is microchipped. They range from two to 15 years-of-age.
