Hundreds of jobs feared lost at Xtra-vision

There are fears for hundress of jobs in Xtra-vision after a liquidator was appointed to the video rental chain.

Speaking in the High Court, Mr Justice Paul Gilligan says he fears the bulk of 580 full and part time jobs will be lost as a result of the news.

There are over 80 Xtravision stores in the Republic and Northern Ireland, including 11 in the South East.

They are located in Tipperary town, Clonmel, Carrick-on-Suir, Kilkenny, New Ross, Carlow, Enniscorthy, Gorey, Wexford and two in Waterford City.

It's believed many of those stores will close as a result of today's news.
