A tipple of whiskey a night could be the secret to a long life, according to Ireland's oldest man.

108 year old Michael O'Connor celebrated his birthday this week, after being born in Kerry in 1912.

According to the Irish Daily Mail, when asked what he enjoys in life, Michael said;

"My old age and my glass of whiskey at night time. There's everything to enjoy when you're healthy enough to enjoy it."

"I don't complain." concluded Michael.

His nightly ritual involves watching the 9 o'clock news on the television while sipping a measure of whiskey.

Michael says he uses a Waterford glass mug with a handle to make it easier to hold and because the crystal makes the whiskey taste better.

Happy 108th birthday, Michael.
