Irish mother admits to killing her children in drink-driving accident

An Irish mother living in the UK has admitted to killing her two children in a motorway crash while drunk.

35-year-old Mary McCann was driving on the M1 north of London when her vehicle crashed into the rear of a lorry.

Both four-year-old Lilly and 10-year-old Smaller died at the scene of the incident.

McCann then went on the run, avoiding a court hearing where she was charged on two counts of causing death by careless driving while under the influence of alcohol.
