House prices on the rise in Carlow and Kilkenny

Kilkenny and Carlow have seen the highest growth in house prices in the South East in the last 3 months.

Thats according to latest findings by the Real Estate Alliance.

While house prices in Waterford and Tipperary are unchanged.

Speaking to Beat Barry McDonald from the Real Estate Alliance says the rise can attributed to flexible workers:

"A lot of them have adjusted their working habits and might not need to commute everyday. So they are happy to commute for an hour or more in some cases to Dublin because they only have to do it once a week or fortnight or even once a month. So they are looking to places like Carlow and Kilkenny and realising there is much better value to be had there."
