LISTEN: Kilkenny Carlow TD says Sinn Fein could become 'just another political party'

Sinn Fein is in danger of becoming 'just another political party'.

That's according to Fine Gael TD for Kilkenny/Carlow John Paul Phelan.

It comes as Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has told his party's conference that a meeting will be called next year to elect a successor.

John Paul Phelan thinks Adams' legacy will be mixed:

"Once that link is gone, Sinn Fein is just another political party.

"I liked Martin McGuiness but I've never liked Gerry Adams.

"Mainly because Marin held his hand up and said 'I was a member of the Provisional IRA'.

"But it was pretty preposterous that Gerry still maintains that he was never a member.
