Luas dispute doesn't look like ending anytime soon

Luas dispute doesn't look like ending anytime soon

The Luas dispute has worsened this evening with news that the company has threatened to put staff on protective notice, with temporary lay offs possible.

Siptu says drivers have been told that their wages may be deducted in a bid to recoup loses sustained by the Luas operator Transdev, as a result of recent strikes.

Siptu say Transdev have also indicated they may take civil cases against workers who are in breach of their contract.

The union says if Transdev go ahead with their plans it is likely they will ballot Luas workers on an all out strike.
