A 28-year-old county Waterford man has been sent forward to the Central Criminal Court for the murder of a man in Portlaw last December.

Stephen Keane, of Coolfin Meadows in Portlaw, was before the District Court in Waterford city yesterday morning, for the killing of 53-year-old John Lowe, where he was served with the book of evidence.

Mr Lowe was found dead at a house in the village on 13 December.

Stephen Keane had his charge upgraded last week from assault causing harm to murder.
