A man in his 20s has been arrested after the discovery of a firearm in Limerick City.
The firearm was found on the northside of the city last week.
Following that discovery, a number of houses were searched this morning, resulting in the arrest.
The suspect is being detained at Henry Street Garda Station.

The firearm will be sent for analysis.
