Man's body discovered in Co Wexford this morning

Gardaรญ are investigating the discovery of a man's body in his 50s in Blackwater, Co Wexford at around 8:30am this morning.

A post-mortem will take place at a later date and the results will determine the course of their investigation.

Gardaรญ say they are treating it as a tragic incident.

According to the New Ross Standard, the body was found close to the scene of a log cabin fire, which is believed to have been the deceased manโ€™s residence.

Earlier that morning, fire services attended the scene at around 8.40 a.m and when the blaze was put out there was no one inside the property, which led to a local search where the body was found a short distance away from the scene.

A Garda spokesperson has told Beat News:

"Gardaรญ are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a man in his 50s, in Blackwater, Co. Wexford, at approximately 8:30am this morning. A post-mortem will take place at a later date, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation. This is being treated as a tragic incident at this time.*
