Met Eireann issues two updated weather alerts for tonight affecting all South East counties

Met Eireann has updated its weather warning for tonight and tomorrow with two yellow alerts in place for South East counties.

A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning is in place for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford

The forecaster warns that a spell of rain tonight and tomorrow will lead to accumulations of 30 to 50mm with a risk of localized flooding. There is the potential for higher accumulations in mountainous areas.

The warning is valid from 11pm tonight until 11.59pm tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow Wind Warning is in place for Tipperary, Waterford, Cork and all Leinster counties.

Southeast winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h. Winds strongest along southern areas at first but gradually extending to all parts of Leinster by late morning and afternoon.

The warning is valid from 8am until 8pm tomorrow.
